A week in the life …
I
wrote the following article for a local publication and I hope you find it
helpful. You will find care for you,
care for older people, something for the toddlers, the housebound, the
lonely, the needy – I hope you would find it all in the life of Christ
Church.
I like the idea of including “life” in the title
of this piece as a recent news article asked “what is your life
signature?” Let me start by
asking the same question of our church (and attempt and answer at the end
of the article).
So, what is the
“life signature” of Christ Church?
In highly developed countries, a
growing percentage of people are thinking about the meaning of life. This
genuine spiritual concern is broader than traditional views of religion
practiced in numerous countries of the world. Yet, it is unclear to most
how they want to live their life
in a meaningful way.
What about our church? To write about a week in the life of “a
church” is no mean feat, and in fact I would begin by saying it is almost
impossible.

Brian is Team Missioner in the New
Warwick Team, a member of the Diocesan forum for Evangelism and a member of
the Coventry (NHS) Research Ethics Committee. He is an ordained and
accredited Baptist Minister with the Baptist Union, Licensed by the Bishop of
Coventry
and works closely with the Methodist Circuit.
